Still Exiled

I recently spent a little time in Oman with a fiend that said "Scott, what happened to your Blog" and I thought it was a little odd then once I had mulled it over for a while I thought of the therapy and creativity that I get out of this and promised I would start writing again so like greyhound out of a trap, here I am 2 weeks later getting started on this Blogging again.

Well I am still here in Dubai, exiled from a land of snow and rain to a land of sun and sand. The region is a little more familiar and a little smaller than it was at the start of this adventure. I spend my weeks in Oman and on occasion travel to Saudi Arabia and India. Terminal 1 and 2 are very familiar now. The night before I call up the automated Taxi number and navigate my way to booking a Taxi for 5am, a large sigh and I think "time for bed" and then stay up trying to ignore the fact that I have to leave Jenny on her own for the next few days, bag packed and passport, with its 3 empty pages, located. The alarm goes off at 4:30am and I jump into my shirt and trousers. The taxi driver will ring my phone at about 4:45am and I will let him know I'll be there at 5am. I climb into the Taxi "terminal 1 please" and throw my head back and try to snooze. As we approach the Al Gharood bridge I open one eye and make sure they turn off on the right exit for the terminal. As we approach the terminal I ask for area A ( I know very well where the Oman Air check in desks are) After the pain of checking in and security checks and my e-gate walk through I am at Costa or Starbucks getting some breakfast. Then onto the plane and another sleep. When we land in Muscat 45mins later I am off and know exactly where to stand on the Bus and get ready to sprint to the visa purchase counter, my 50 Dirhams ready and waiting to pay for my entry visa. Once into the airport, I don't forget to pick up either some beer or wine for Rob.
