Sunshine and shopping
Dubai, land of sun and shops. if you don't want to lie out in the sun then head to the malls, if you hate shopping then head for the beach. If neither of these pastimes interests you then there are other things to do but there will be significantly more effort involved. The social side of Dubai is alive and kicking, people are a lot friendlier than anywhere I have ever been. They readily open their lives to those that are interested. Invitations to lunches and dinner to get to know one another. also to help with the unfamiliarity. Don't whatever you do stop doing this Dubaians keep your minds open to new people and always invite the stranger in, it is a really welcoming experience. On the outside of any interactions things are quite cold, solitary and very 'big city' similar to London or Edinburgh where all are anonymous. Scratch the surface and start to meet people and it is a different place. Beaches and Malls, they can entertain and relax you but they do not lead to any kind of fulfilment. Have a meeting get something done, but don't forget that the person the meeting is with, the person sitting in the chair next to you will probably be looking to meet people and expand their circle. eventually it will be one big circle. hopefully the 6 degrees of separation will come down to much less than that. how about a City that feels like a village? hmmm, perhaps we should rethink.
